The SWAT Model as a Tool for Water Resources Management: An example applied to the river Apeú, Castanhal / PA.

The management of water resources has driven research, which seeks alternatives to know the processes occurring in river basins. Therefore, the objective of this study was to apply the SWAT (Soil & Water Assessment Tool) model as a complementary tool for the management of water resources, evaluating the Apeú river basinwith the intention of predicting through the model how different actions related to land use and management practices may influence the useful life of the river basin. The results were satisfactory, with Nash-Sutcliffe (NSE) values of 0.89% and R² of 0.99, demonstrating the significance of the SWAT model for the planning and maintenance of water resources.
