COMPARISON OF TWO METHODS TO MEASURE THE ECOLOGICAL VAZIO NA BACIA CAMANÁ -MAJES – COLCA -PERU
Keywords:
Flow, Hydrology, EcologyAbstract
The main objective of this article is to carry out a comparative analysis between several hydrological methods to estimate the Ecological Flow in the El Brazo intake in the Camaná-Majes-Colca River Basin, Peru, in this case it is a river that is born in the Peruvian Andes and flows until it ends in the Pacific Basin. To estimate the Ecological Flow for the stretch under study, several hydrological methods were analyzed from a 20-year historical series of river flow data. The source of information was the Huatiapa Hydrological Station. The indicator species to estimate the Ecological Flow is the River Shrimp whose scientific name is Cryphiops caementarius, which is economically important because it is distributed in large populations in the basin. Finally, it is worth mentioning that the importance of this article lies in the fact that the methodology and the results achieved will provide guidelines for easy use and application; that can serve as a guide to determine the Ecological Flow in other sections of the basin and in basins with similar geomorphological characteristics in Peru.
