Abstract

The sanitation services management is complex because it involves multiple agents, some with conflicting perspectives, and multiple analysis criteria. In this context, the use of multi-criteria methods is appropriate and recommended. The aim of this study was to develop a comparative assessment of the sanitation services of the 11 municipalities that make up the Catolé do Rocha micro-region, in the state of Paraíba, using 9 criteria related to the dimensions: water supply aspects, financial aspects, water quality aspects and collection aspects. The multi-criteria method enabled the municipalities to be ranked in relation to their sanitation systems, with the municipality of Catolé do Rocha being identified as having the best basic sanitation system in the micro-region analyzed, with 3 of the criteria analyzed being ideal.
